Inspired living. Thoughtful commitment.

Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge is Charlottesville’s only Type A Lifecare community. We’re a not-for-profit organization, which means our focus is on improving the lives of those who live here, not on creating profit for investors. We’re passionate about bringing excellence to every aspect of our senior retirement community.

We’re mission-driven, fueled by independent thinking and creative problem-solving. We look for, and welcome, insightful input. We’re dedicated to creating a living environment that is life-enriching. We operate as a team and search for innovation. We nurture pride and belief in ourselves that translates to pride and belief in you.

An active senior living experience

Does age define you? Should it limit the pursuit of your personal goals? We don’t believe so.

That’s why we work to empower your life with choice and experience, unencumbered by the stereotype of age. We endeavor to be your go-to resource in navigating the landscape of upscale senior living in Charlottesville or wherever you may be headed, providing answers, unlocking information and serving your needs, no matter where you may be in your decision-making process and regardless of where you may choose to live in the future.

Our origins

Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge opened in 1990 as a joint endeavor of Westminster Presbyterian Homes, Inc., of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic of the Presbyterian Church USA and Virginia Diocesan Homes, Inc., of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Virginia. We’re a not-for-profit organization that welcomes all faiths.

Our Mission

We’re dedicated to delivering excellence in every way. Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge reflects a dedication to the art of living well, and an absolute commitment to serving the needs of residents. We’re the only not-for-profit senior living community in the Charlottesville region offering a gold standard Type A Lifecare contract.
