One of the greatest benefits of living at Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge is that it provides peace of mind.
You don’t have to worry about the details of maintaining your home or the appliances in it. You don’t have to worry about meal preparation, or healthcare when you need it. You and your family are free from so many concerns that weigh down other retirees and their children.
Financial Peace of Mind
You also get financial peace of mind. How do you know that? You just look at the AVP Seal that WCBR is entitled to display.
The AVP Seal is a designation issued by A.V. Powell & Associates LLC, actuarial innovators for the senior living industry. It indicates that a client’s actuarial results place it in the top tier of the firm’s database.
The seal is awarded based on an internal peer review of a CCRC’s most recent actuarial study. It only applies to the actuarial report that was reviewed as a basis of designation, and it is not automatically renewed in future years. WCBR has received the designation in fiscal years 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Only clients of AV Powell & Associates are eligible for the AVP Seal. But that doesn’t mean all clients of AV Powell get such a seal. Far from it. Typically, 35 percent to 40 percent of CCRCs reviewed by AVP are awarded the seal.
You know how much WCBR cares about getting everything right, from the living accommodations to dining services to health care.
Fiscal Soundness Matters
This seal is a reminder that we care about getting fiscal soundness just right, too. And remember, this is a not-for-profit community, which means that profits go back into the community itself, rather than to investors or shareholders. We make sure that the revenues we generate are efficiently used for the benefit of those who live here.
And that means staying in top financial condition, as the AVP Seal testifies, year after year.
