There’s some exciting good news cooking at Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge!
The Main Dining Room is opening back up for seated dining, as of March 15! That’s huge, since gourmet dining is a major part of what makes WCBR a special, and delicious, place to live.
Dining Services Director David Saylor made the announcement in the livestream broadcast on Feb. 24. You can see it here. The announcement comes at 29:44 on the recording.
As we all know, it’s been a year since the pandemic put a big crimp in our dining habits. In March 2020, as the pandemic drove us to social-distance ourselves, everyone started eating in their own apartments, as food service was by delivery only. The food was still wonderful, but a lot of ambience was missing.
Carryout started in September. Now, finally, we can break bread together. Of course, we will still be taking all proper precautions – following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, the governor’s office and the Virginia Department of Health. Still, anyone who feels more comfortable doing carryout can continue to do so.
As we finally put this unprecedented year behind us, everyone at WCBR looks forward to sitting down and enjoying what Dining Services serves up. One thing we know for sure: It will be good.
